Research field
Topology, and Singularity Theory

Topics of interest
I am interested in topics related to low-dimensional topology and singularity theory, for example, 3-manifolds, knot theory, contact topology, topology of singularities, plane curves, etc...Personally, I am specifically interested in characterizing the topology of singularities given by polynomial maps using techniques in low-dimensional topology. Open book decompositions of 3-manifolds and associated contact structures are very useful to study it from this viewpoint. Research on 3-manifolds and knot theory are also very interesting by itself. I am thinking of getting involved not only in the studies I am currently working on, but also in others from a wide area of fields. Advice on Research: Please visit my laboratory. We will discuss what you like and what studies would be available, and try to find books for the studies. Because there are many ways of studying topology and singularities, you should read many associated books, listen to others, and focus your interests on what you would like. Any research can start with your choice of the theme you would like to study. Please enjoy making that choice in the beginning.
