Meals

Next to the Mathematical Institute there is a facility with a variety of options for lunch.

Cafeteria:
This is the largest dining place. To eat here simply go through the line, select the dishes you wish to have, and pay at the end of the line. One can easily do this without any knowledge of Japanese. After you have finished eating, please bring your tray to the dishroom. The cafeteria is open from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm each day. A meal here costs roughly 500 yen.
Tea room:
This is a sit-down restaurant where you will have a waitress. Samples of the menu can be seen just outside the door.
Noodle shop:
Here you will find samples of the various selections available. After choosing a meal, you can buy a ticket for its exact cost at the ticket vending machine. (Put the needed amount of money into the machine, and push the button corresponding to the price, then a ticket and your change will come out.) With this ticket in hand, you may place and pay for your order. (You might need to confirm your order in Japanese.) After a couple of minutes, your noodles will be ready.
Store:
Here you can find bread, fruit, candy, snacks, drinks, batteries, camera film, stationary, stamps, books, magazines, and various other items.

Maps will be provided at the registration desk for places in Sendai to go for dinner. Foreign participants who are vegetarian may need to take some care in finding suitable dishes, but should be able to find food to their satisfaction.
