Topics of interest |

I am interested in topics related to low-dimensional topology andsingularity
theory, for example, 3-manifolds, knot theory, contacttopology, topology
of singularities, plane curves, etc...Personally, I am specifically interested
in characterizing thetopology of singularities given by polynomial maps
using techniques inlow-dimensional topology. Open book decompositions of
3-manifolds andassociated contact structures are very useful to study it
from thisviewpoint. Research on 3-manifolds and knot theory are also veryinteresting
by itself. I am thinking of getting involved not only inthe studies I am
currently working on, but also in others from a widearea of fields.Advice
on Research:Please visit my laboratory. We will discuss what you like and
whatstudies would be available, and try to find books for the studies.Because
there are many ways of studying topology and singularities, you should read
many associated books, listen to others, and focusyour interests on what
you would like. Any research can start withyour choice of the theme you
would like to study. Please enjoy makingthat choice in the beginning.
